Company Overview:
Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a full-time Engineering Administrator to work directly with the Director of Engineering and the engineering teams.
ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.
**This position is fully on-site at Empirical Systems Aerospace in San Luis Obispo, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Administrator will work directly with the Director of Engineering and be responsible for engineering specific documentation and reporting. This high-tempo, highly energetic Administrator will need to work effectively within the engineering department as well as with other internal functional groups including Operations, Quality, Contracts, Finance, Management, Executives, etc.
Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of engineering processes and procedures
Track and report on engineering KPIs to monitor team performance and project progress
Support the Director of Engineering in coordinating and organizing engineering projects
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to engineering activities, projects, and schedules
Coordinate and schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders
Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration on cross-functional projects
Assemble and maintain a variety of information including, but not limited to action items lists, statistical data, timekeeping, financial information, and certification documentation
Support coordinating efforts between project management, manufacturing, supply chain, and other functions to anticipate and address project issues
Assist and support operations activities such as training, security, policy updates, etc.
Work with minimal instruction or supervision
Actively promote an ethics-based business culture, ensuring that all peers are aware of, and fully comply with, ESAero’s “Code of Ethics,” and related policies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an engineering or technical environment
Knowledge of project management, product development, and procurement desired.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in collecting, analyzing data, and translating to recommendations
Disciplined execution of processes and systems
Must possess excellent organizational skills, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers suppliers, and leadership
Proven ability to analyze and solve problems; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form
Expertise working with cross-functional teams
Prefer experience in aerospace
Preferred familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100
Familiarity with other software: NetSuite (ERP), MS Project, MS Sharepoint, MS PowerApps, MS PowerAutomate
