Job Summary:
The CNC Production Machinist is responsible for operating and supporting CNC and manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts in a manufacturing environment. This role involves preparing materials, monitoring multiple machines, entering production data into digital travelers, and maintaining shop equipment and consumable inventory. The CNC Production Machinist works closely with other shop personnel to support daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with 6S standards. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on technical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain machine shop equipment
Operate CNC and manual machines per documentation
Prepare stock
Enter data into digital travelers
Assist in managing inventory of consumables
Utilize machining tools to modify and create parts
Provide hands-on support to other shop operations as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to simultaneously monitor multiple CNC machines
2+ years of manufacturing experience or similar field
6S standard practice
Stand for extended periods
Some CNC familiarity
Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
CNC setup experience, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
Demonstrated foundation in GD&T
Proficiency and experience with machining tools and operations such as lathes, mills, drill press, and bandsaw.
Ability to use basic precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
Technical hands-on capability with attention to detail. Including parts fabrication, assembly, and general shop work/maintenance
