Job Summary:
The Production Control Planner is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic production plans that align with organizational goals for on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and resource optimization. This role provides analytical and decision-making support to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure that production capacity, materials, and schedules are aligned with customer demand and business priorities. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who exercises independent judgment to anticipate constraints, recommend corrective actions, and influence operational planning decisions. This position collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Contracts, and Finance to ensure optimal performance across programs and projects.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop and manage strategic production schedules and capacity plans to meet delivery, cost, and quality objectives.
Analyze MRP/ERP data and business forecasts to anticipate material or capacity constraints and make recommendations for resource adjustments.
Partner with management to establish production priorities and allocate resources based on contractual requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Lead planning meetings with Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to review progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Exercise discretion in adjusting production plans to meet changing priorities, customer needs, or technical constraints.
Recommend process improvements and workflow enhancements to improve lead time and reduce cost of production.
Develop reports and dashboards for senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and performance tracking.
Review and approve work order release strategies and project schedules to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Manage planning parameters and configuration settings within MRP/ERP systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Participate in new product introduction planning, ensuring readiness of materials, processes, and documentation.
Provide mentorship and training to junior planners and production support staff.
Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards through planning and documentation controls.
Required Qualifications and Duties:
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply operational data to make recommendations that impact business outcomes.
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.
Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (such as SAP, Epicor, or Oracle).
Bachelor's degree in business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred
Minimum 5+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
Experience in aerospace or electronics manufacturing preferred.

Proven experience in capacity planning, production analysis, and continuous improvement.

Hiring Range: $70,400-$90,000k Salary/Exempt
