Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that incoming, in-process, and internally manufactured parts meet established quality standards and engineering requirements. This role performs detailed visual and dimensional inspections, documents results, and works cross-functionally to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues in support of production schedules and customer expectations. The Quality Assurance Technician also contributes to continuous improvement efforts, supports the Quality Management System, and assists with audits, inspection standards, and calibrated equipment coordination to ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform inspections of materials, purchased parts, and internally made parts.
Document all inspections results using visual, dimensional methods and standards on company documentation forms.
Review specifications and drawings to understand the product requirements.
Reject incoming materials that fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue to the concerned department.
Communicate and help resolve quality-related issues while adhering to project deadlines.
Assist in developing inspection standards and processes.
Assist with the coordination of calibrated equipment.
Recommend improvement measures to processes to ensure quality control standards are met.
Generate Nonconformance Reports or Corrective Actions when required.
Assist with updates to the Quality Management System and participate in internal and external audits.
Work with multiple departments to support production and increase awareness of quality requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency and experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
Technical hands-on capability with attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
3+ years of experience
Desired Qualifications and Skills
ISO 9001/AS 9100D
J-STD-001 and/or WHMA/IPC-A-620Machining experience
Experience with composites fabrication
Experience with aircraft avionics
Technical Writing: Build guides, schematics, wiring diagrams, reporting/reviewing, etc.
Experience with parts and inventory management
