CNC Production Machinist 

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist to work alongside our CNC Programmer. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to; rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain machine shop equipment  

• Operate CNC and manual machines per documentation  

• Prepare stock 

• Enter data into digital travelers 

• Assist in managing inventory of consumables 

• Utilize machining tools to modify and create parts 

• Provide hands-on support to other shop operations as needed 

Required Qualifications and Skills:  

• Ability to simultaneously monitor multiple CNC machines 

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience or similar field  

• 6S standard practice 

• Stand for extended periods 

• Some CNC familiarity 

• Attention to detail 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:  

• CNC setup experience, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills. 

• Demonstrated foundation in GD&T 

• Proficiency and experience with machining tools and operations such as lathes, mills, drill press, and bandsaw. 

• Ability to use basic precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges. 

• Technical hands-on capability with attention to detail. Including parts fabrication, assembly, and general shop work/maintenance
